I lived in the area briefly decades ago. I'm trying to see if I recognize anything.

Wonderful video. I grew up along the river there by the walking bridge. I recall the tracks coming thru town by the walking bridge heading north out of town along the river. You are correct in your estimation of where the tracks came thru near the depot and leaving town. I don't recall the depot but I do recall a huge lumber yard along the river near the walking bridge. It had tracks along it to load lumber. When I was a kid I rode snowmobile going north out of town on the old bed along the river. On the SE corner of town is/was an old gravel pit. When I was a kid I walked out of the pit on the old bed along the river towards ZF.

Great video! I ride that same old rail bed on horseback east of Theilman, MN where it passes through state land on the way to Wabasha. It was wonderful to see a picture of the locomotive that ran on that line. So cool! Thank you!

When in Wabasha check out the old Roundhouse and the railroad hotel they both still stand on Wabasha's west side. There are also a number of spots between Wabasha and kellogg that the old Midland RR bed can be seen. I just found your channel a few days ago so I have a bunch of vid's to catch up on.Thanks for posting.

The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul, and Pacific Railroad is by far an old Midwest origins railroad that is truly studied and missed more than any other railroad. Like the Chicago Great Western or the Minneapolis and St. Louis were all but forgotten. Maybe because the Milwaukee went all the way to Seattle/Tacoma. There is a four part documentary on the Milwaukee all the way to the Pacific. It is on YT.

Looks sharp. On my list to buy. Layout is looking good!
